Today is Tuesday and it is cold and windy. We both slept in this morning. We were tired
last night and needed a good long sleep to recover from the last two days.
After breakfast we went down to the concierge’s desk and
worked on our ride to the train tomorrow. While we were there we purchased
tickets for the hop on hop off bus. He
gave us directions to the bus stop and off we went to find it. We ended up walking down to Westminster Abby
and then over to the Parliament building and Big Ben. As I said it was windy and cool. We waited for an hour for the bus and then
gave up and headed back to the hotel.
While waiting a motorcade came by with some “big wheels” from
Singapore. Around 10 motorcycle cops,
the dignitaries and at least 6 other cars following them.
We stopped at the Abby for a few minutes to warm up and then
came on up to the hotel. We will try for the Hop on Hop off again on Friday,
but probably with another bus company.
This afternoon we both took a nap and then headed down
stairs to get something to eat. We had
talked to the concierge about a pub that we had eaten at before and he
mentioned a Fish and Chips restaurant not to far from the hotel. When he mentioned that it was down a cobble street,
it rang a bell with me. I used to eat at
a Fish and Chip place on a cobble stone street when I was flying into London. We walked down to the restaurant and it was
the same one I use to eat at years ago.
It has upgraded itself from when I ate there before. Then they served the fish and chips on a
newspaper, now we goy plates, napkin and silverware. The Halibut, was the best that Judi and I
have ever had.
We returned to the hotel to catch up on The Big Bang
Theory. Early to bed tonight as we have
a 5:30 AM pick-up to St. Pancras rail station, so we can board the Eurostar to
Paris.
