Today we are just
over a week from departing on our cruise.
It has been an eventful time getting ready. The work of our travel agent, who will remain
nameless, has not been up to what we expected.
Judi and I have had to be on top of everything, and we should of
probably set this trip up ourselves. I
was being lazy and thought I would let a professional do it for me. It turns out we probably know more about
Europe and cruising than she does. Will
go back to our old travel agent, for cruising, in the future and take care of
air travel, hotels and tours our self.
We also have had to
take care of some health issues, nothing serious, but time consuming. Shingles, then getting set up on a beta
blocker and an operation on an ear for skin cancer cuts into planning and packing
time.
The weather has been
good this fall. Plenty of rain and
moderate temperatures. The trees are now
starting to turn and it should be a beautiful fall. The only thing we do not like is that the
days are shorter. Still dark at 7:00 AM
and again dark by 6:30 PM.
We both have our
clothes cleaned and pressed and ready to go into the suitcases. The prescription meds and over the counter
meds are up to date, so we are ready to start packing. The fire in Chicago at the air control center
has caused us some concern. Again no
help from the travel agent. However it
looks like the flights are pretty much back on schedule.
The house sitter is
all ready to get started. Piper really
enjoys having her here. Her boy friend
spends a lot of time playing with her.
She does a great job and the house is in great shape when we get back
home.
